Since 1993 the "Stookerskoor Den Helder" is a group of enthousiastic men and woman who are singing songs about the life on board of the ships during the time of the sail – and – steamtrade, about the homesickness and the longing for home.
You can hear us sing ballads, forebitters, capstansongs and so on.
And ….. sometimes we tell in naughty songs what some sailors used to do in their spare time when they hit port and went roaming about.
The "Stookerskoor Den Helder" is a much asked for guest on the many festivals all over the country, and in the Den Helder vicinity.
We also visited several harbour sites in Danmark and Germany.
The "Stookerkoor Den Helder" has a close alliance with the national maritime heritance, which we financially support with the proceeds of our performances and the selling of our own CD’s.
